Press Release Summary: Virginia Contractor Notice More Home Owners Turning To
Remodeling
Rather Than Buying New Homes and Identifies the Benefits They Gain

Press Release Body: Bealeton, VA - December 4, 2007 - Tom Wotton of Home Sweet Home
Improvements, LLC, based in Fauquier County, Virginia takes an in-depth look at the
housing market and the construction and remodeling industry and identifies the
hidden benefits of remodeling while the market is troubled. Home Sweet Home
Improvements is a residential only contractor that specializes in custom remodeling
solutions and creating new living spaces.

Even though most of America is experiencing the country's economic downturn and we
are coming out of the new housing surge, Tom Wotton identifies 3 major reasons why
it is a good time to remodel your home. In an effort to inform and educate
consumers, Wotton says "Generally home owners feel that because the housing market
is down that it's not a good time to invest in their home when in fact, the opposite
is true. Despite the market, remodeling retains and increases the value of the home
and puts the home owner in a much better position for when the market does begin to
be favorable again. Meanwhile, the homeowner gets to enjoy the freshly updated
living space."
"Now is a good time to be maintaining, renovating or remodeling your home for 3
important reasons.
. Products & commodities are not escalating in price as much and they are more
available
. Services and vendors are more available and are able to focus more attention on
the individual consumer
. When the housing market is up again, availability of contractors and quality
services are compromised and over extended so now is always the best time to invest
in your home"

According to Improving America's Housing 2007, released biennially by the Remodeling
Futures Program at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University, the
recent slowdown in home sales means owners are staying in their homes longer. This
will change the composition of home improvements spending. Research Analyst Amal
Bendimerad at the Joint Center remarks "Recent buyers often focus on updating their
kitchens and baths as well as adding rooms or making structural changes." "Given
that their use of space is already well established, longer-term owners make
different spending options, choosing to maintain the condition of their homes." The
Joint Center also predicts that homeowner spending on remodeling projects is
projected to increase 44 percent between 2005 and 2015.

Wotton cautions consumers that while the market is distressed that they must beware
of desperate workers that have been laid off from new construction and create
startups but may not have the experience and qualifications to work for the
homeowner. As Wotton closely watches the home improvement market and the trends, his
intentions are to develop mechanisms that will increase homeowner awareness across
the nation. Home Sweet Home Improvements pride themselves on consumer education and
good communication with each client which they say is the key to their customer
satisfaction.
